Humpty Dumpty Day

It’s Humpty Dumpty Day everybody!
Get over this fucking day and it is all downhill from here.

I’ve got to go to work early today, so posting might be a bit spotty in the afternoon, but coming up within minutes I’ll be posting the Daily Photo and Condensed Gossip. Today in the Commentator Corner Jaws the Cabbie is featured with a piece of art he created especially for the show. Then I’ve got a couple magazine bits coming up and maybe some other suprises.

Speaking of surprises, “Boris” came up with another Home Page classic, which I call “Dueling Marty’s!” Great work as always, “Boris!” If you’d like to dress your website up with some specific art or if you need a logo or CD cover designed, “Boris” is available for your artistic needs. Just send me an email and I’ll forward it along.

Okay, to start the show off, here’s a clip from the movie that “Boris” based today’s Home Page art on! Enjoy it and stay tuned or check the bottom of the Home Page for the most current updates.

Lights, camera...action!

Commentator Corner

Welcome to Commentator Corner. If you’re a commentator at the Marty Wombacher Show, feel free to send me images, writings, thoughts, photos, whatever. You’re a part of the show and I’m happy to spotlight your creativity.

Grompf is the spotlit Commentator of the day. We all love his comments and now we can love his photography. I love black and white photography and this is a great shot. Here’s what Grompf has to say about it:

It comes from a small series of pictures titled "feelings in the night" and in French it can also sound like "bored feelings.”

Cool photo, Grompf! I thank you for sending it in and look forward to spotlighting more of your work on the Commentator Corner!

Squeal of Fortune Winner

Once again Joey D wins! The correct answer to yesterday’s Squeal of Fortune was: North Dallas Forty, Nick Nolte and Mac Davis. Congratulations to Joey and thanks to Biff, JHwang and Professor Dungpie for chiming in!

Joey D
North Dallas Forty was originally a novel that was published in 1973, written by former Dallas Cowboy, Peter Gent. The book was billed as a fictional novel, but it doesn’t take Einstein to see that it’s mainly about Gent’s experiences with the NFL. It’s also no secret that the hard-partying, sex-crazed quarterback in the book, Seth Maxwell is based on The Dallas Cowboy’s quartback, “Dandy” Don Meredith.

One of the themes that runs through the book was that in the ‘60s, the NFL encouraged perscription painkillers and drugs to help the players get through a game, but would fire players over smoking marijuana.

Both the book and the movie received great reviews (particulary Mac Davis, who had never appeared in a movie and did a great job protraying sleazy Seth Maxwell) and are considered classics today.

Congratulations to Joey D and we’ll see you next time on...SQUEAL OF FORTUNE!

Two Fer Tuesday

Okay, it’s not really a “Two Fer Tuesday,” here at the show, but I didn’t know what else to put up there. Yes, I’m not officially awake yet. But in spite of that, I’ve got a fun show planned for today. We’ve got the answer to the Squeal of Fortune coming up, there’s a Commentator Corner featuring a cool photo by Grompf, a K-Fed photo that shows him to be well fed and more surprises as I think of them.

And speaking of Squeal of Fortune, “Boris” did a great job spoofing the real Wheel on today’s Home Page Art. Another classic! “Boris” is available for freelance artwork ranging from website work to logos to CD designs to just about anything. He’s a Photoshop and design wizard! Just send me an email and I will forward it to our resident artist!

Okay first up, Daily Photo and then Condensed Gossip! Stay tuned or check the links at the bottom of the Home Page. Hasta La Visa and Mastercard, baby!
