Samari Night Fever
Here’s a great Saturday Night Live satire of Saturday Night Fever called, Samari Night Fever. O.J. Simpson is in it, years before “someone” murdered his wife and then he got himself thrown in jail to find the real “killers.” Notice the Vinnie Barbarino poster in the bedroom, nice touch!
A Three Way Phone Call From Emerson, Lake and Palmer
A Three-Way Phone Call Between Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Wednesday, June 13th, 2007.
Emerson: Hi Lake, Hi Palmer, what’s up?
Lake: Nothing.
and
Palmer: Nothing.
Emerson: Yeah, I haven’t been up to much myself. Hey, have you guys gotten a royalty check lately?
Lake: No.
and
Palmer: No.
Emerson: I guess that’s because we haven’t sold a record since the early ’80’s. We’re not very popular anymore.
Lake: No, we’re not.
and
Palmer: Not at all.
Emerson: Anything else new?
Lake: No.
and
Palmer: No.
Emerson: Okay, goodbye.
Lake: Goodbye.
and
Palmer: Goodbye.
HELLO!
Time to begin the weekend edition of The Marty Wombacher Show. As always, fishwrap and Daily Picture are closed for the weekend, but there will be a Daily Poll shortly, Condensed Gossip after that, then a recycled MySpace blog in the afternoon and we’ll finish things up early this evening with a Daily Video. Have a great Saturday and check back if you can. Now I need some diet Mountain Dew. Those fuckers should buy some advertising here as much as I mention them!
Beer Frame
I just was on Google looking for an image for tonight's Beer Frame and the above image showed up! Ha ha ha! Kind of like the old Robin William's line of, "When you look irony up in the dictionary it says, 'see: Irony.'"
This is going to be a short Beer Frame tonight because I'm beat and I have to get up tomorrow and try to write most of the week's worth of fishwrap and Daily Post material for next week. So thanks for tuning in this week, I'll have light postings over the weekend, so stop on by if you can.
Cheers,
Marty

Paul Revere and the Raiders
When I was a kid Paul Revere and the Raiders were huge and I was a big fan of theirs. They were on a daily music/comedy show called “Where The Action Is,” and my brother Jim and I used to run home every day after school to watch it. Lead singer Mark Lindsay was the first guy to have a ponytail in rock and roll and people thought it was pretty outrageous at the time. Here they are, I believe from 1966 performing the song, “The Great Airplane Strike.” Notice when the guy introduces them he says, “THE Paul Revere and the Raiders!” What a jerkoff!
P.O. Box 395
What a fucking treasure trove my sweet P.O. Box delivered today! I almost didn’t go because I’m running late for everything, but now I’m glad I took the time. Check out what was waiting for me there:
A package, a postcard and two tickets saying I had two packages that were too big to fit in the P.O. Box! Woo hoo! Here’s what I got.
First off, I got this lovely postcard of two guys juggling oranges.
Here’s the back of it...holy fucking moley! Look at the signature, the freaking Zodiac Killer is sending me postcards. This means we’re friends, right Zodiac Killer?
Next something a little less frightening from my friend, Madonna (no, not that Madonna, this Madonna has class!)
It’s a vintage Maidenform bra button! Thanks Madonna and thanks again for the cool Cheap Trick badge you sent me a long time ago!
There’s no return address on the next one, but the picture says a thousand words, actually it only says one: Bifferoonie! You’ve howled at her comments here at the show and now let’s see what she’s sent me.
A Rolling Stone Classic Portrait book! Very cool, Biff, thanks! Looks like future fishwrap material! I’m buying the beers when you get out here in November, Biff!
And last, but certainly not least, this package from my good friend Michelle.
Wow, this is like Christmas and my birthday all rolled up in one! A little stuffed dog, I’ll name Bifferonnie, Jr., a miniature flashlight (which I do really need!), a fish energy card, afrist aid kit from the Wichita Marriott and some post it notes! Note to self, call Michelle and thank her for being so kind!
Thanks everybody, this really made my day. Keep them cards and letters coming in! Happy Friday everyone!
