Spinal Tap—A To Zed

I found this downloadable Spinal Tap zine online while surfing and its the most comprehensive thing I’ve ever seen on Spinal Tap. You can download it by going here: Spinal Tap A To Zed. Here's a link which will take you to the home page of the site: Spinal Tap Fan Dot Com.

I downloaded it and lo and behold, I know the guy that made and wrote it, Chip Rowe! We used to trade zine’s in the mid ‘90s! Hello Chip, you old Closet Cleaner you!

Check out Chip’s website here: Chip Rowe Dot Com.

Welcome to Theme-Show Thursday!

Hello and welcome to Spinal Tap Thursday at The Marty Wombacher Show! This year marks the 25th anniversary of Spinal Tap, so I thought we should have a Spinal Tap day here at the show where it’s Theme-Show Thursday today.

The show’s resident artist, “Boris,” did the Home Page art and as always, it’s unblievable! Great jobl, “Boris,” your artwork always goes to eleven!

About eight posts in all today including a Spinal Tap Poll, memorable Spinal Tap lines, original artwork from our in-house artist, “Boris,” a downloadable Spinal Tap fanzine and a lot more Spinal crap as well. Check back often!

I’m posting this at a time when usually I’d just be going to bed, because I have to work the day shift. So I’ll be posting the Daily Photo and Condensed Gossip soon and look for updates here and at fishwrap as I post them on my breaks and lunch time. Tune in to Tap, all motherfucking day!

P.S. And a reminder, don’t forget to check the hot links on the Home Page of the show for current updates.

Okay, I have to get going as this show doesn’t pay my rent yet. Oh and there’s a NEW Spinal Tap CD coming out on June 16th and you can pre-order it by using the Amazon link below:

Beer Frame

This is going to be short-ass Beer Frame tonight.I have to work the dayshift tomorrow and Thursday, which sucks! I’ve worked the night shift since 1986 and I cannot stand working days. I hate the sunshine, people are all in a rush, the sunshine sucks, I have to wake up when I’m going to bed...did I mention the sunshine sucks? It sucks monkey lungs on toast and I do not like it. I went in today around noon so I could go to bed early. It’s rough trying to go to bed around midnight, when I usually don’t go to sleep till around five in the morning. But there is one way to assure a good night’s sleep: beer. And lots of it. So if you work with me and you’re reading this, be gentle with me tomorrow, I won’t be in a good mood. Okay time to hit the sauce.

Cheers!

Marty

P.S. I’ll be shutting the show down early and starting early tomorrow. It’s theme-day Thursday! Want to know what the theme is? Well then tune in, Motherfucker! Cheers and beers!

Star Trek Parody With John Belushi

This is one of my favorite skits from the old Saturday Night Live cast. I read in a book about Saturday Night Live that Belushi always held back in rehearsal and this was no exception. Michael O’Donoghue wrote the skit (he came from National Lampoon and in my opinion was one the greatest comedy writers in our time) and was really pissed off because Belushi was doing a lousy job at imitating Capt. Kirk. O’Donoghue told him he was doing a shitty job and Belushi just laughed and said, “I’ll nail it when we’re on air.” Saturday night came and O’Donoghue said in the story that he was watching from the wings and was floored when Belushi did a spot-on Capt. Kirk.

Chevy Chase plays Mr. Spock and Dan Aykyroyd does double duty as both Scotty and Dr. McCoy. And now live from YouTube...it’s Saturday Night!

Where The Neon Lights Are Pretty

I love neon signs and New York is chock-a-block full of them. Every now and then I thought I’d post a picture of interesting neon signs I run into in my travels.

This place is right down the street from where I work. The funny thing here is when I took the photo they were closed. On demand printing my ass!
