Palintology

One of the things that Sarah Palin is going to do with her newly found free time is to have a copy of this sign tattooed under her whore daughter Bristol’s bellybutton.

Happy Fifth of July!

I hope you had a fun Fourth of July celebration. Now it’s the Fifth of July and it’s a Sunday. Reason enought to fire up a fifth of something and whoop it up, because tomorrow’s Monday and I don’t even want to think about that shit! Anyway, today is the real party day, to quote Joey D from his facebook page: "Rookies party on the 4th. Everyone knows the real party is on the 5th! Happy 5th of July!" Joey's right, today is the REAL day to party, so crack open whatever it is you need to start your party and whoop it up! Hooha!

Even thought it’s a lazy-ass Sunday, I’ve got three posts and a Daily Video (a CRAPtastic Louisville Marty selection) that I’ll be sprinkling like holy water right here on the Daily Post. And Religious Gossip will be up soon. So check back and have a great Sunday! Cheers!

Happy 4th of July!

This is going to be the only post of the day as The Marty Wombacher Show takes a day off for the Fourth of July holiday. I want to wish you and yours a great 4th of July! Have tons of funs, my friends!

I’ll be back tomorrow, hungover as hell and ready to serve up the Lazy-Ass Sunday edition of The Marty Wombacher Show around the crack of noon.

Thanks to “Boris,” for the special Fourth of July Home Page art and the hilarious and cool art (above) that accompanies this post! And remember folks, “Boris” is available for freelance work, just send me an email and I’ll forward it along.

Alright, Happy Fourth of July and remember, “Fireworks Rock!” See, Motherfucker?

P.S. The first show was broadcast on May 4th, so today is the two month anniversary of The Marty Wombacher Show. I just want to thank those of you who come back every day and tune in and leave comments. I feel like we’ve formed a cool little improv group and this has been more fun than I ever dreamed it would be! Thank you so much for joining in and becoming a part of this.

And an extra thanks to “Boris” for his cool and genius artwork!

Daily Video

Bob and Doug McKenzie

Since “Boris” used Bob and Doug McKenzie from SCTV for his genius Home Page art, I thought we should make them the video of the day. What’s funny is that this whole skit was originally kind of a throwaway idea that they improvised. Here’s an excerpt on the skit from Wikipedia:

"The Great White North" (originally known as "Kanadian Korner") was a panel show that played upon Canadian stereotypes. Bob and Doug, two dimwitted beer-swilling brothers wearing heavy winter clothing and toques, would comment on various elements of Canadian life and culture, frequently employing the interjection "Eh?" and derisively calling each other a "hoser." Among the topics discussed were snow routes, the Canadian-built robot arm on the Space Shuttle, the inappropriateness of bedtime stories about dog fights, flat tires, and "why there aren't enough parking spaces at take-out doughnut shops."

The sketch was conceived when SCTV moved to the CBC television network. Each episode to be broadcast on that network was two minutes longer than those syndicated to the United States. The CBC network heads asked the show's producers to add specifically and identifiably Canadian content for those two minutes. Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas thought that this was a ridiculous request, since the show had been taped in Canada, with a mostly Canadian cast and crew, for two years. The request inspired them to create a parody that would incorporate every aspect of the humorous stereotype of Canadians.

The segments were videotaped at the end of a day's shooting, with just Thomas and Moranis and a single camera operator. The sketches were for the most part improvised on the set, and after doing several such ad-libbed bits, they would then select the best ones for use on the program.

Here’s on of my favorite Bob and Doug McKenzie moments. Take off, eh? Hoser!

Three Day Weekend!

Happily I’ll be posting from The Marty Wombacher Show Studio today instead of work today, for I’m starting a three day weekend, hopefully you are too!

Even though I’m off work, I’ve got a full day planned here at the show. I’ve got updates at Daily Photo and Condensed Gossip soon and multiple updates at fishwrap too. Also today features a brand new “Hi Asshole!” and I’m going to go check my P.O. Box for the first time in two weeks, so hopefully some cards and/or letters will be awaiting me!

I love the Fried Eh artwork on the Home Page by “Boris” today, great work Daddio! Look extra closely to see my mug on a mug! “Boris” really made Twilight Zone Thursday come to life yesterday, if you missed it check here, here, here and here. And “Boris” is available for all your artwork needs on a freelance basis, be it CD covers, logos, website work or whatever, just send me an email and I will pass it off to the master.

Okay, time to fire up the show, stay tuned or check back at The Home Page for current updates at the bottom of the page. Happy Friday!
