Squeal of Fortune Winner!
Once again, Joey D wins, yesterday’s Squeal of Fortune! Congratulations, Joey D, I can you hear you squealing from here and it’s making me a little nervous! Thanks also to Professor Dungpie, Jason Hwang, Gene1, biff and “Boris,” for participating!
Kirk Douglas played the Randle McMurphy role on stage in 1963, but by 1975 his own son Michael thought he was too old to play the part and cast Jack Nicholson in the lead role causing a little family friction at the time. Kirk probably got over it when the movie won all five major Academy Awards for, Best Actor,Picture, Actress, Director and Screenplay. It’s based on Ken Kesey’s novel of the same name and Kesey was inspired to write this after working as a night shift janitor in a mental institution in California. Around this time he also volunteered to take part in a CIA mind-control program and was given peyote and LSD to ingest so they could observe people on the drugs and possibly use them for interrogation purposes. Kesey claimed to have written the first three pages of the novel after ingesting a large amount of peyote. Those crazy night shift writers!
So anyway, congratulations to Joey D on the win and we’ll see you next week on...SQUEAL OF FORTUNE!

I did peyote in the summer when I was 15 & was at Coney Island at night riding the rides , & ever time the ride stopped , my brother had to peel me off , the best was the hell hole ride , didn't know the floor drops down , & was trying to hold on to the wall , not to slip down , but down you went , what a trippy experience .
ah, the wall of meth.
