I moved to New York in 1993 from my hometown of Peoria, Illinois. I'm a writer who has written for Time Out New York, Manhattan Spirit, Gadfly magazine, Nerve magazine (the one that Legs McNeil edited, not that online thingy), Manhattan Mirror, NY Press and the Pekin Daily Times among others.
I've written three books, Elvis Presley is a Wormfeast, 99 Beers Off The Wall and The Boy Who Would Be A Fire Truck.
From 1989 to 1993 I published and edited POP magazine. The magazine was a best seller in Peoria, Illinois and was written up in Spin magazine, Advertising Age and the Chicago Tribune.
I was the editor, publisher and primary writer for my magazine fishwrap which ridiculed the world of mainstream magazines from 1993 to 2000. The magazine got positive press from Spin, NY Press, Sassy, the Chicago Tribune, USA Today, Men's Journal, Philadelphia City Paper, NY Post, Peoria Journal Star and the NY Daily News among others.
My last print print project was two issues of a magazine I wrote and edited called Natalie Word. It was featured in an article written by Matt Haber in the New York Observer.

P.S. I designed and built this website using Square Space. It's the most user friendly hosting site I've ever seen and they have a great support staff. They're not paying me to say this, but maybe they'll see me and feature me on their site. Enjoy the show!
